Hibiscus Oil Painting

This week I am enthused about starting a series of paintings from the flowers that are starting to bloom in my garden. April will have to be put on hold for a while, so I can capture these beauties. This week the deep pink/red hibiscus that is blooming became my subject. Done en Plein Air. This is a 5 x 7 oil painting on canvas board. I used a palette knife to capture the beautiful rugged edges and to add a lot of depth to the painting. Ready to be framed and hung in your favorite spot. This will bring a smile to your face. You can buy this wonderful original oil painting in my Ebay Store. Contact me at shacone@aol.com and I will give you the info on how to purchase this painting.

April in a Blue Chair

This week I decided to finish April in the blue chair. She is getting much better about sitting for me to paint. This is one of my favorite positions she can get herself into. The chair really is not big enough for her but she can manage to scrunch herself in. She always seems to be in deep thought about her next move and it looks as thought something has peeked her interest. I hope that I have captured this in the painting. Enjoy, until next week.....Terry

I'm Back

Sorry for the delay in my weekly paintings. During February I traveled to the Westminster Dog Show in New York City. My friend and I were there for a week. We saw Phantom of the Opera and another play called Apple Tree. I highly recommend Phantom! The Westminster Dog show was superb as usual and I came home with some great photos of some really neat dogs. I hope to start painting them soon. When we came home from New York we went to Las Vegas with our significant others for some R & R. Then I came down with the flu. I am still feeling the after affects but have been able to go out and paint a couple times. This painting was done yesterday at the Riverside Mall in Riverside Ca. I have painted here before and was not happy with the result. After thinking about it, I wanted to give it one more try. I was so happy with the result that I thought to make it truly me it needed to have a dog. Enjoy! Terry
