Santa Barbara Kennel Club 2014

"Santa Barbara Kennel Club featuring the Nonsporting Group"

This years SBKC dog shows were none other than terrific and this painting I am happy to say was auctioned off and brought in $11,000.00.   A portion of the money will help some local and national charities.

I have been commissioned to do eight paintings for the ever popular Breeder's Showcase sponsored by Purina.   The non regular event which is part of the SBKC weekend is a night event and each breeder can enter two of their dogs of a particular breed and qualify to win over $10,000 in trophies and money.  This even has become a must do event, the exhibitors are also treated to a free dinner as they watch the competition.   This year was my 5th year in doing a painting for their silent auction that is held that evening.   I would like to thank Nancy Shaw and Linda Scott who will take the painting home for their generosity.

The painting each year is also used on the catalog for the SBKC and Simi Valley dog shows.

It is a wrap around cover and has been well received and quite the collector's item to collect all 8 of them.

Sweatshirts, totebags and greeting cards are also available during the shows to purchase and trophies for the Breeder's Showcase and Best of Breed on Sunday of the image are also given out.

Banners have been made of all of the paintings and adorn the round  building on the show grounds.

2010 The Hound Group
2011  The Herding Group
2012 The Working Group
2013 The Terrier Group
2014 The Non Sporting Group

Next year I will be painting the Toy Group.  If you were there this year, don't be surprised if you end up in my painting.  I took over 600 photos of the event and I have a wonderful idea in mind.

Now back to painting.

Until next time, PLEASE ENJOY THE ART!   Terry d. Chacon
