The River Bed

Yesterday we celebrated Patricia Rose Ford's birthday by taking her painting.   We went to a new place to paint,  the Irvine Regional Park.   SoCalPapa is painting regional parks for their upcoming event in May.  This is one of the parks on the list and it is only about 45 min. from my house.

We left out around 8:30, giving me the much needed time to get my puppies in order before leaving them for the day.   Boy are they a handful and so active.   But I am enjoying every minute.   Here is a photo of them taken last week. 6 weeks old already.

Their mountain that they play on is getting smaller and smaller, or they are getting bigger and bigger.

Anyway we arrived at the park and was told to go to Lot 15 which was at the very end of the park.   We hiked out to the river bed where we found the river was flowing and the beauty of the distant mountains was exactly what I wanted to paint.  

After painting the above painting, I saw other painters had arrived.   Alfted Tse and Gordon Luce.   Very nice painters from around the area who were happy to share their experiences in the park and their paintings.  

After completing our morning paintings we headed to Moreno's Mexican Restaurant a recommendation from Gordon.   Gordon it was fabulous!  
  
I wanted to treat Pat for dessert on the way home so we stopped at Casey's Cupcakes in Riverside, picked our favorite cupcakes and headed home to play with the puppies.  

Another great day of painting, eating, meeting new friends and playing with puppies.  What a day!
