"Cloudy Morning Ford Park" 9 x 12 oil on canvas by Terry d. Chacon in plein air. http://www.ci.redlands.ca.us/quality_life/Parks/city_parks.htm Ford Park is in Redlands, CA. and one of my favorite spots to paint. I chose to go here on a cloudy day to get a gloomy painting of the water reflections and the beautiful scenery surrounding one of the ponds. The sun kept going in and out, a little drizzle from time to time, but I managed to complete the painting. As an update the following painting, painted on location at Kimberly Crest in Redlands, CA won 2nd place at the Redlands Plein Air Show. Thank you to judge and artist Elin Pendleton. From the judge's critique she gave the following: Second Place-Southside Entrance, Kimberly Crest-Terry d. Chacon What caught my eye immediately was the excellent use of values coupled with the innovative color choices that are just far enough from the traditional palette to separate this painting from its competitors. Nicely balancd, it evokes a sense of timelessness and peace. |
Until next time, PLEASE ENJOY THE ART! Terry d. Chacon
